Forgiveness is a journey

Forgiveness is a journey, and not a very easy one at times. Should we just throw away the hurt we feel after someone has wronged us? I mean, just let it go?

The phrase, "Let Go, Let God" seems to simplify the complex process of healing through the act of forgiveness. As we connect more to God and our faith grows, His strength and peace allow us to respond in ways we never imagined: like letting go of the deepest of pains and truly handing them over to God.

It's giving God my pieces in exchange for His peace.

Forgiveness. It isn't easy. It may not look the same for each person. I must remember that when I forgive someone, it is also a gift of release that I give to myself.

Thank You, God, for forgiving me first! I am grateful for Your example of forgiveness.

"Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive." Colossians 3:13 (NRSV)
